PRFC KEEPS HOME UNBEATEN STREAK GOING AGAINST INDY

Apr 8, 2017

San Juan, Puerto Rico- Puerto Rico FC extended its home unbeaten streak to eight straight when they tied Indy Eleven 1-1 at Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium this past Saturday April 8th.

The game began with Indy dominating the possession but this did not lead to good scoring opportunities. The visiting team was very patient with their offense while PRFC took every chance it got and ran with it all the way to Indy’s end line.

Puerto Rico FC started building momentum with shots from Jairo Puerto and a free kick from Cristiano Dias. In the 19th minute Puerto sent a cross to the left sideline for Walter Ramírez who crossed it towards the center of the box where Héctor “Pito” Ramos was waiting and with his left foot he scored the goal.

Just before the half ended Éamon Zayed leveled the scoreboard with a left footed shot from the left side of the box to the center of the goal after receiving a pass from Justin Braun.

Despite the equalizer PRFC came out swinging in the second half, especially when Giuseppe Gentile came in for Michael Kafari who tried to wear down Indy’s defense. He had the best shot in the 70th minute when he broke away from the defense and kicked the ball with force, but Indy’s keeper, Keith Cardona, was able to stop it.

Puerto Rico FC will travel next to Canada to face FC Edmonton on April 22nd. PRFC’s next home game will be April 29th when they host North Carolina FC. Tickets are on sale now starting at $10 at PRTicket.com or puertoricofc.com/tickets.
