Jun 10, 2017

Bayamón, Puerto Rico - An unexpected night at Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium as Puerto Rico FC couldn’t cope with the visitor’s pressure, and were defeated 3-1.

PRFC started off with high pressure, winning a free kick in the 5th minute that Rudy Dawson volleyed, but it was saved by the Deltas’ keeper Romuald Peiser.

The Deltas took the lead in the 16th minute when left back Kenny Teijsee, took a left footed shot which rifled through the bottom right corner of the net, Austin Pack was unable to make the save.

A delay in the match occurred as Rudy Dawson couldn’t move on the ground, during the play which led to the goal.

SF Deltas doubled the score to two-nil as Michael Stephens passed the ball in the box to Kyle Bekker, who took a low driven shot to the left bottom corner in the 31st minute.

A chance to get back into the game came in the 50th minute with a powerful shot from Kyle Culbertson, but failed to cause problems as it was blocked by the Deltas defense.

Jairo Puerto gave PRFC energy in the 65th minute after a slip up in the Deltas defense, which cause the Hondurian to steal the ball and slot in the goal to shorten the lead to 2-1.

Puerto Rico FC had two chances after, but lost possession and the visitors scored their third in a counter attack with Kyle Bekker's second goal to secure the win.
