San Juan, Puerto Rico - Puerto Rico FC and Jacksonville Armada shared the honors for the second time this week. The match held at Jacksonville's Hodges Stadium ended in a 1-1 tie, with the home side scoring last in stoppage time.

“We maintained our composure for 90 minutes. Jacksonville really wanted those three points, and got one in the end. But overall the guys played hard and executed the plan. We went toe to toe with one of the league's best,“ said Interim Head Coach Marco Vélez.

PRFC came out to the field with an aggressive mentality, pushing the Armada's defensive line as well as their goalkeeper Caleb Patterson-Sewell. After nine minutes, an interception by Giuseppe Gentile led to the first shot of the match. The forward passed to Conor Doyle on the right wing and he sent a cross to the penalty spot where Sidney Rivera was, but his shot went over the crossbar.

Jacksonville seemed to be catching their rhythm in the 31st minute. Charles Eloundo used his blazing speed to leave PRFC’s defense behind. Only  goalkeeper Trevor Spangenberg stood between him and the goal, but his shot went wide right.

PRFC continued to press to try and get the first score of the match. After 39 minutes, Gentile sent a beautiful corner towards the box. In an attempt to keep Sidney from reaching the ball first, defender Drew Beckie slid to clear the ball but, it went into the net to give PRFC a 1-0 lead.

In the second half Jacksonville pulled out its heavy artillery generating seven corner shots, but PRFC's defense withstood the push. This was until the 92nd minute, when Eloundo used his speed again to reach the area and center the ball to Derek Gebhard. The forward deflected the ball with his shoulder towards the far post for the equalizer.

PRFC will face North Carolina FC this Saturday, July 15 at Sahlen’s Stadium for their final match of the spring season. Do not miss the action live on ESPN 3 at 7:30 pm. PRFC returns home on August 5th to host Jacksonville. Tickets are on sale at or
