Bayamón, Puerto Rico - After several days off due to Hurricane Irma, Puerto Rico FC returned to training to prepare for the upcoming match against North Carolina FC at Sahlen Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park this Saturday, September 16.

This game represents the beginning of an important week for the Naranjas who have three games in eight days, two of these on the road. With good results, PRFC can get back in the fight for the Fall Season championship, which guarantees a direct birth to the postseason.

"We have decided to be positive about the situation,” said PRFC Head Coach Marco Vélez after the second training session of the week. "Just as the break in between seasons helped us refocus, we hope we have the same result now. We are not going to think anything negative, we are going to face this week's training with the same enthusiasm and positive attitude. "

Saturday's game will be the first for PRFC in two weeks. After North Carolina, Puerto Rico will return to the Island to host FC Edmonton on September 20, then travel to Indianapolis to face Indy Eleven on Saturday, September 23. Due to the heavy load, Vélez will use this week to prepare the team physically and then concentrate on the tactical part.

"This week, after several days without training, we will focus on conditioning to get back in form. Next week, when we start playing again, is going to be a matter of maintenance since we have games every three days, which the players like because it gives them continuity. But, the mentality is to take it game by game. Our focus now is on NCFC, after Saturday on Edmonton and starting Thursday on Indy, "said Vélez.

Regarding the immediate challenges NCFC represents, Vélez reminds us that this will be the fourth meeting between both clubs in 2017. The PRFC head coach does not expect any big surprises and believes the points will go to the team that wants them more.

"All the teams in the league know each other pretty well already. The difference will be who performs best, but the desire and enthusiasm to win cannot be lacking, "said Vélez.
