PUERTO RICO HOME GAME MOVED TO NORTH CAROLINA AMID HURRICANE RECOVERY EFFORTS

Sep 29, 2017

NEW YORK (September 29, 2017) – The North American Soccer League (NASL) announced Friday that Puerto Rico FC’s upcoming home game on Saturday, October 7, has been moved to Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. Kickoff will remain at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Puerto Rico was scheduled to host North Carolina FC at Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium in Bayamón, but the destruction caused by Hurricane Maria left the league with no choice but to move the game elsewhere.

Since the matchup was slated to be a home game for Puerto Rico, all tickets will be only $10 (general admission) and 50% of all ticket sales will go to the hurricane relief fund that was set up by Puerto Rico FC owner Carmelo Anthony.

The NASL has already moved several Puerto Rico FC games due to complications caused by Hurricane Maria, and league officials are continuing to work with Puerto Rico FC to determine the best possible course of action for the club’s remaining home games.
