PRFC TO HOST THE COSMOS IN FORT LAUDERDALE AND RAISE FUNDS FOR HURRICANE RELIEF

Oct 11, 2017

San Juan, Puerto Rico- Puerto Rico FC will continue its 2017 NASL campaign by hosting the New York Cosmos at Central Broward Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Wednesday, October 18th. Tickets for this match are on sale now with 50% of the revenue going to the Carmelo Anthony Foundation’s Relief for Puerto Rico Fund.

“Like we have said, even though we are not able to play back home we will do everything in our power to represent the island of Puerto Rico and help those affected by this hurricane. Everyone who attends this game will be helping the people of Puerto Rico while enjoying what will certainly be an exciting regular season match”, said PRFC President Tom Payne.

The state of Florida has become a second home for Puerto Ricans throughout the years and has open its doors for Puerto Rican refugees after Hurricane Maria. The devastation caused by the hurricane forced PRFC to play out the remainder of its season on the road. Due to the proximity to the Caribbean, the over 800,000 Puerto Ricans that live in the state of Florida, and its storied professional football history, Fort Lauderdale was a great choice for this match.

Gates open at 6:30pm with Kickoff set for 7:30pm. You can get your general admission ticket and help the people of Puerto Rico for $10 by calling (954) 357-5400, emailing tickets@puertoricofc.com or the stadium’s box office from 10:00am to 4:00pm starting today and on gameday. Group discounts are available. Box office is closed on Sundays.
